Amaya Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services) and Jenifer Lalman (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) took down Josephine Jackson and Neomi Spellman on the show court 6-1, as Adrianna Filippelli (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) and Addison Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services) won by the same margin on No. 2s over Zoe Kovac and Viha Shah. The Gryphons took the third flight, with Maria Gutierrez (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) and Bianca Reyna (Yonkers, N.Y./Roosevelt) falling to Margaret Moon and Colleen Coughlin 3-6, but the Valiants still carried the 1-0 lead into singles.

The Valiants swept all six single flights to wrap up the day. Filippelli won 6-2, 6-2 over Jackson in No. 1 play, while the Ortiz sisters took the wins on the second and third court. Amaya took the first set over Shah 6-2 before winning via retirement, while Addison blanked Spellman, 6-0, 6-0.
