Men's Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Day With Dominant Win Over Mount Saint Vincent

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University men's lacrosse team honored the Class of 2025 on Saturday afternoon, celebrating Senior Day with a 21-9 triumph over Mount Saint Vincent. The Valiants move to 2-1 in the Skyline Conference and improve to 3-9 overall with the win.

The team celebrated its six seniors prior to the start of the contest, with Matt Bundy (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), Mike Hopkins (Bedford, N.Y./Fox Lane), Dom Janavey (Shrub Oak, N.Y./Lakeland), Stephen Peragallo (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac), Nick Valdivieso (Pleasantville, N.Y./Pleasantville) and Jarod Wilmoth (Harlem, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) being honored for their contributions to the program while donning the Valiant on their helmets.

The pre-game ceremony and the rain did little to slow Manhattanville's attack, scoring a season-high 21 goals in the win. Michael Swift (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) led the charge with seven points on five goals and two assists, pushing the graduate attacker past 150 career points. Tyler Berch (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) also reached a milestone, with his two goals and four assists bringing the junior over 100 career points.

Janavey matched Berch's point production with four goals and a pair of assists. Sean Larkin (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and Drew Palladino (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) both recorded hat tricks, while Jake Strobel (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) found the net twice. Ian Denzer () and Francisco Rosas (Stratford, Conn./Stratford) added a goal each, with Tim Beahm (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and Dylan Foley (Northport, N.Y./Northport) both recording an assist.

It was all Manhattanville from the opening faceoff, with Nick Padovani (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) winning the draw before Janavey scored his first of the day 37 seconds into the contest. The Valiants scored eight straight goals over the first 13 minutes of action to get comfortably in the driver's seat of the conference battle. Sam Hall accounted for the Dolphins' first goal of the afternoon with 1:35 left in the opening quarter to make it an 8-1 game.

The late score did not hamper Manhattanville's momentum as the Valiants scored six straight to begin the second quarter, furthering the lead to 14-1. Each side scored three times across the final 6:09 of the half, putting Manhattanville up 17-4 through 30 minutes of play.

With the comfortable lead, the Valiants eased off the gas in the second half as the Dolphins outscored the home team 5-4 to close out the day. Both teams scored twice in the third before Mount Saint Vincent put three in the net in the fourth while Manhattanville added two final tallies.

Both Swift's 150th and Berch's 100th career point came on the same play, with Berch assisting Swift on a goal with 6:41 left in the second quarter.

Padovani was excellent on the faceoffs, winning 13 of the 16 draws he took while collecting five ground balls. His grounder total was matched by Hopkins and Chris Gragnano (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook HS) to lead Manhattanville's effort. Tim Beham caused four Dolphin turnovers and was one of four Valiants alongside Palladino, Larkin and Rosas to collect four ground balls.

The Valiants deployed all three of their goalkeepers into action in the win. Joe Ulzheimer (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) made the start, playing 22:28 in the cage and making one save with one goal against. Hopkins came in midway through the second quarter and finished with seven saves while allowing five goals. Elijah Bell (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) wrapped up the contest by manning the crease in the fourth, logging seven stops while allowing three goals.
