The Valiants had the upperhand in hostile territory early, scoring twice in the first eight minutes. Swift struck first 4:19 in before Manhattanville took advantage of a Farmingdale penalty as Berch scored a man-up goal from Larkin with 6:52 on the clock. After the slow start, the Rams scored twice before the opening frame drew to a close to tie the game at 2-2.
Foley put the Valiants back in front to begin the second quarter with his fourth goal of the year from Larkin 1:31 into the new period. However, it would be all Rams for the remainder of the half as Farmingdale scored six straight over the final 13 minutes to jump out to an 8-3 lead.
The Rams kept on firing in the third, scoring all five goals of the quarter to put the game out of reach with a 13-3 advantage. Both teams scored twice in the fourth, with Swift accounting for both of Manhattanville's goals off assists from Janavey and Padovani.
