How We Got Here
After making the team's first postseason appearance since 2018 last year, the Valiant are competing in a conference tournament for consecutive seasons for the first time in program history. Manhattanville was tested in a rigorous non-conference slate, rebounding from a 1-8 start to the season as Skyline play began to finish the year with four wins over the last seven games to earn the No. 4 seed.
Manhattanville locked up the postseason berth in the final week of the regular season, taking down Mount Saint Mary 10-5 on the road to break a two-way tie for the final playoff position.
The Valiants feature an attack of three 40-plus point scorers, highlighted by a career-season from
Michael Swift (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle). The graduate attacker's 56 points leads Manhattanville into the post season with 31 goals and 25 assists.
Sean Larkin (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) also put up the best numbers of his career with 49 points, leading the offense with 35 goals while his 14 assists marks a new personal best, while
Tyler Berch (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) also broke the 40-point plateau with 27 goals and 14 helpers.
Joe Ulzheimer (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) has been the mainstay in Manhattanville's net with the junior recovering from injury at the end of last season to make 188 saves on the year, holding a 14.06 goals against average.
The Rams were locked in a three-way tie atop the conference standings with a 6-1 Skyline mark alongside USMMA and Maritime, but the tiebreaking procedures shook out with the reigning champs nabbing the top seed. Farmingdale features an explosive attack coupled with a dominant defense as the Rams have outscored opponents by 144 goals this season. The Giovinco brothers of Adam and Andrew have combined for 127 total points this year, two of five Rams to score 30 goals in 2025.
Last Time Out
The teams won't have to think back too far to the last matchup as Manhattanville and Farmingdale wrapped the regular season against each other on Saturday. The Rams outscored the Valiants 8-3 in the first half en route to a 15-5 win in which Swift scored three times for Manhattanville.
Tournament History
Tuesday is Manhattanville's second-ever appearance in the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament. The Valiants were defeated by Maritime in the 2024 semifinals and will be looking to earn their first postseason victory since 1992. Farmingdale, meanwhile, has been to the Skyline Finals three of the last four years, winning the program's first-ever Skyline title last season against Maritime.
