Bennett Keeps Knights to One in Loss

Newburgh, NY – Sophomore goalkeeper, Alexa Bennett (Sparrowbush, N.Y./Port Jervis), grabbed a career-high six saves in the nail-biter conference 0-1 loss at Kaplan Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Valiants (3-5) move to 2-1 in conference play while the Knights (4-6, 4-0 SKY) remain undefeated in the Skyline.
 
FIRST HALF – MOUNT SAINT MARY 1, MANHATTANVILLE 0
Bennett made a statement in the box, shutting down a penalty kick at 33' and keeping the scoreboard at null.
Kaitlyn Shotter scored the sole goal of the game with assists from Isabella Milburn and Lily Tanko at the 40' marker.
 
SECOND HALF – MOUNT SAINT MARY 1, MANHATTANVILLE 0
Jennay Amaral (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) added to the scoresheet with the only shot for the Valiants. Bennett added three more saves to the board, keeping the game within one.
