NEW YORK, N.Y. – For the second time this season, senior
Esther Ramos (Queens, N.Y./Forest Hills) of the Manhattanville University women's basketball team has been recognized by the Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) as a Division II/III Honorable Mention for the week ending Jan. 25.
Ramos continued her stellar senior campaign in Manhattanville's two wins last week as the Valiants improved their program-record start to conference play with a perfect 13-0 record against the Skyline. The Queens native poured in 39 points with 15 boards, six steals and a pair of assists across the contests.
On Wednesday, Ramos eclipsed 20 points for a second straight game, scoring 21 with eight rebounds, an assists and a season-high four steals to lead the Valiants past Mount Saint Vincent. She closed out the week with an 18 point effort in the win over Farmingdale, adding seven rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Ramos leads the Valiants with 16.6 points per game, reaching double-figures in all but one contest this season. She is also averaging an even 7.0 rebounds per game to lead Manhattanville off the glass.
Ramos and the Valiants are back on the court Wednesday night to host Sarah Lawrence at 6 p.m.
