How We Got Here

Manhattanville returns to the postseason after capturing the title in two of the last three years. The Valiants wrapped the regular season 8-1 while sitting atop the conference 7-0. With Sunday's 6-1 victory over Yeshiva, the Valiants secured the undefeated conference regular season for the second time in the past three seasons.

With three conference sweeps coming over Sarah Lawrence, Mount Saint Vincent and SJLI, the Vals remained untouched. The dominant outings secured the Valiants the top seed, allowing the home court advantage for the second straight year against the Golden Eagles.

For the fourth-seeded competitors they went 7-5 throughout the season, finishing 4-3 in conference. The three losses came at the hands of Purchase, Manhattanville as they closed out the regular season with a loss to Farmingdale.

Last Time Out

The Valiants hosted the Golden Eagles just one week ago, Oct 14. Manhattanville swept the doubles courts followed by clinching victories from Adrianna Filippelli (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd), 6-0, 6-0, Amaya Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services), 6-1, 6-1, and Jenifer Lalman (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) 6-2, 6-1. Tournament History

Manhattanville and SJLI are no strangers in the postseason as they look to meet for the second consecutive year in Purchase.

For the Valiants, tomorrow's match marks the fourth-straight postseason appearance. After taking home the crown as the No. 3 seed in 2023, the top-seeded Valiants fell to the No.2 seeded Farmingdale in the finals.

The Golden Eagles prepare for its third Skyline postseason appearance in four years. No. 2 Manhattanville topped No. 1 St. Joesph's Long Island in the 2023 finals. After falling short of the tournament in 2024, they bounced back for the No. 3 seed in the 2025 season.

In the 2025 semifinals, the Valiants ended the Golden Eagles run with a score of 4-0. After sweeping all three doubles courts, Amaya Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services) followed by Addison Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services) put the Valiants up 3-0 in singles. Jenifer Lalman (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) topped off her perfect rookie season with a 6-0, 6-0 victory to send her team to the finals. Manhattanville returns all its young team from the 2025 championship run.
