STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Four Valiants were in action on Friday at the 2026 Fastrack Last Chance Invitational at Ocean Breeze to make a final push for NCAA qualification to wrap up the indoor season. Facing off against some of the finest competitors in the northeast, the Valiants capped off a stellar indoor season and will now turn focus to continuing the success outdoors.
Jayda Birch (Queens, N.Y./Excelsior Preparatory) continued to shine in the shot put, taking second overall with a mark of 11.51 meters. The senior finished 0.29 meters behind Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir of Division II Georgian Court in the event.
The rest of Valiants in action were on the men's side.
Joey DeMilio (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and
Danny Noia (Honolulu, Hawaii/McKinley) ran the mile, with DeMilio taking 19
th (4:41.47) and Noia crossing in 36
th (5:03.15).
Khalil Williams (Menands, N.Y./Shaker) wrapped up the day with a pair of efforts in the dashes. In the 200, the freshman ran a 23.57 to place 29
th, while in the 400 he took 25
th with a time of 53.91 seconds.
