Valiants Win Four Gold Medals, Place in 12 Events at 2026 Skyline Track & Field Championships

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University track and field teams medaled in 12 events, bringing home four golds, as both the men's and women's Valiant teams finished in third place at the 2026 Skyline Conference Championship meet, hosted by Farmingdale State College on Sunday afternoon.

The Valiant men placed first in two events. Shai Graham (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Theatre High School) became the first Valiant even to run a sub-11 seconds in the 100 meter, setting a new program record with his first-place finish of 10.90 seconds. Zach Garrant (Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill High School) won gold in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:10.12, setting another program record with the performance.

The women's golds belonged to Jayda Birch (Queens, N.Y./Excelsior Preparatory) and Lilly Savnik (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) as the field competitors shined. Birch posted a throw of 11.66 meters in the shot put, while Savnik won the javelin throw with a mark of 28.55 meters.

The throwers were joined by Gabrielle Billetz (Clarksburg, Mass./Hoosac Valley) in their events, as the junior earned three medals in her four total events. Billetz was runner-up to Birch in the shot put with a mark of 11.42 meters while also taking second in the discus with a throw of 37 meters. She would go on to place third in the hammer throw with a 31.27 meter toss while taking fourth in the javelin with a 19.22 meter score.

The Manhattanville women earned their last medal in the 4x100 relay, as the foursome of Uzoma Nweze (Valley stream, Long Island/Valley Stream North High school), Samiyah Samuels (), Birch and Saage Palmer (Brooklyn, N.Y./Medgar Evers College Preparatory School) ran a 54.72, claiming second.

In addition to his 100 meter win, Graham would earn a silver in the 200 with a time of 22.66 seconds, the second-fastest in school history. Joey DeMilio (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) earned bronze in the 800, running a 2:04.38, while Khalil Williams (Menands, N.Y./Shaker) also enjoyed a third-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.63. The Valiant also medaled in both men's relays, with the foursome of Luca Perez (Somers, N.Y./Somers), Graham, Aka Udeagha (Rye, N.Y./Rye) and Alex Carney (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon High School) taking second in the 4x100 (44.66 seconds) while Udeagha, Williams, Graham and Courtney Brown (Clarendon, Jamaica/Mount Vernon) placed third in the 4x400 (3:37.38).

Rounding up the rest of the men's performances, Carney took ninth in the 100 with a split of 11.68 seconds. Udeagha (22.85) and Carney (24.24) also ran the 200, placing 4th and 11th, respectively. Udeagha led the three Valiant competitors in the 400 with a fifth-place finish of 52.47, finishing ahead of Brown (7th, 53.84) and Williams (8th, 54.62). DeMilio took 5th in the 1500 with a time of 4:25.91, while Danny Noia (Honolulu, Hawaii/McKinley) ran a 4:46.57 to place 8th.

DeMilio led the four Valiants in the 5000, running a 17:21.20 to take 7th. Garrant (8th, 17:29.34), Noia (9th, 17:32.39) and Darlig Delgado (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore Senior) (13th, 20:33.94) also competed in the distance event. Williams nabbed fourth in the 110 hurdles ahead of his bronze in the longer run, finishing in 17.06 seconds. Speaking of the 400 hurdles, Brown (5th, 1:00.33) and Garrant (1:07.40) joined Williams in the event. Finally, Williams and Perez competed in the long jump with placements of 8th (5.71 meters) and 9th (5.27), respectively.

For the women, Palmer (6th, 13.87) and Nweze (7th, 13.94) ran in the 100. Nweze was joined by Birch for the 200, with Birch running a 28.94 for 5th and Nweze taking 6th with a 29.38 time. Birch also ran the 400 solo, placing 5th with a time of 1:08.06.

Alicia Bibi (Marlborough, Mass./Marlborough) ran the 800 in 3:02.56, good for 11th, while Sam Delgado (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) (10th, 6:10.37) and Jennifer Oliveros (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) (12th, 6:26.90) ran the 1500. The two also competed in the 5000, with Delgado placing 6th with a time of 23 minutes even and Oliveros running a 23:38.56 to place 9th. Palmer took 5th in the 400 hurdles with a split of 1:29.90. Lastly, the tandem of Bibi, Birch, Samuels and Nweze ran the 4x400 in 5:11.61 to place 4th.
