PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville baseball swept Yeshiva at home with the scores of 11-1 and 15-5 for the second sweep of the weekend. The Valiants are off to the best start in program history with a record of 12-2 (2-0 SKY).
GAME ONE
Yadiel Carmona (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) gave the Valiants the momentum, going 3-for-4 with two runs and a two RBIs double to left center. Gregory Tashik (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park Jr./Sr.) joined Carmona as a threat to the Maccabees, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Aidan Rosario (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) went 2-for-4 with two runs, sending in one RBI.
Ryan McCann (Medford, N.Y./Longwood) started on the mound for the Valiants, going 4.0 innings with four strikeouts and three hits. McCann earned his fourth win of the season. Sam Pines (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) entered the game on the bump for the final three outs, allowing one hit and one run before bringing in the win.
FIRST INNING – MANHATTANVILLE 5, YESHIVA 0
The first and second runs of the game came from throwing errors from the catcher in attempts to catch the runner stealing second. Mike Scozzafava (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) earned the first RBI of the game with a single to right center, scoring Anthony Peterson (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Hasbrouck Heights).
Carmona sent a hard hit ball to left center, scoring Dylan Roberts (Warwick, R.I./Pilgrim) and Scozzafava for the two RBI double.
SECOND INNING – MANHATTANVILLE 8, YESHIVA 0
Gregory Tashik (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park Jr./Sr.) got the second inning started with an RBI single to the third base side to score Rosario. Peterson scored Tashik with a single out to left field. Roberts wrapped scoring in the second rotation with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Marco Clara (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset).
FIFTH INNING – MANHATTANVILLE 10, YESHIVA 0
On the ninth pitch of the at bat, Rosario grounded out to second to score Carmona. Jack Moeller (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) sent a hard hit ball into right field to put the Valiants into double digits, scoring Travis Szober (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North).
SIXTH INNING – MANHATTANVILLE 11, YESHIVA 0
John Cullinan (Massapequa, N.Y/St. John the Baptist Diocesan) recorded his first colligate hit with an RBI single to left field, scoring Carmona.
SEVENTH INNING – MANHATTANVILLE 11, YESHIVA 1
The Maccabees avoided the shutout with a groundout RBI to second base.
GAME TWO
Griffin White (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) dominated at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a walk, four RBIs, and three runs. White sent the ball over the left center wall on the first pitch to lead off the fourth inning, putting the Valiants on the board and electrifying his offense.
Chris Goohs (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown H.S. East) went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple while sending in three and scoring one. Scott Ennist Jr took the free bag twice today while also recording two RBIs and two runs and getting off a double to left.
Peter Lanausse Jr. (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) entered the game for the Valiants at the top of the fifth inning with the game knotted up at three, earning three strikeouts and allowing two runs for his second victory of the season.
FOURTH INNING – YESHIVA 3, MANHATTANVILLE 3

Yeshiva got on the board first with a single heading up the right side and scored two with a fielding error in right field. A double to left center put the away team up three heading to the bottom of the inning.
BOTTOM
White sent a long ball over the left center wall on the first pitch of the bottom of the fourth to put his team on the board. Scozzafava grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Ennist Jr from third. Anthony Iazzetti (Tuxedo, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep) singled into right to score Torres, tying the ballgame.
FIFTH INNING -MANHATTANVILLE 5, YESHIVA 4
While the runner on first got caught in a rundown, the Maccabees regained the lead.
Ennist Jr put the Valiants in the lead for the first time in the second outing of the day with a two-RBI double to left.

The fifth run of the game for Yeshiva was scored off an RBI single up the middle.
BOTTOM
Jacob Liberati (Eastchester, N.Y./Tuckahoe) pinch-hit in the bottom of the seventh, earning his first colligate RBI with a bases-loaded walk, scoring Nick Porrello (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown East). White followed with the second walk in a row, scoring Iazzetti.
Chris Goohs (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown H.S. East) smashed a ball out to the right-center warning track for a bases-clearing walk-off triple to wrap the weekend.
