PURCHASE, N.Y. – Gabrielle Billetz (Clarksburg, Mass./Hoosac Valley) and Sam Delgado (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) of the Manhattanville University women's track and field team were honored for their performances at this weekend's Ramapo Season Opener, selected as the Skyline Conference's Outdoor Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week, for the week ending Mar. 29.

Billetz was the Valiants' leading thrower on Saturday in the discus and hammer. The junior placed third overall with a 37.81-meter toss in the discus throw before posting the second-best score in the hammer throw in program history, recording a distance of 31.26 meters to place 16^th overall.

Delgado also placed her name in the program record book, posting the sixth-best time in Valiant history in the 5000-meter. The freshman finished the race in 22:18.18, placing 23^rd in the event.

Billetz, Delgado and the Valiants are in action again on Friday at Hartford's Rage in the Cage Invitational.
