Lally Holds Bears to One Hit; Three-Run Tenth Secures Baseball’s Saturday Sweep

PURCHASE, N.Y. – Jack Lally (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley) threw a complete one-hit game one, before three runs in the top of the tenth inning of game two secured the sweep for Manhattanville over St Joesph's Brooklyn. The Valiants (22-8, 9-3 SKY) acted as the visitors in the match-up against the Bears (2-19, 0-10) on Manhattanville Baseball Field Saturday afternoon.

GAME ONE

Lally shoved through seven complete innings to begin the day on the familiar field. The senior threw lights-out, only allowing one hit after he retired the first eleven batters faced. In addition to the sole hit, Lally recorded his second straight trip to the mount with eight strikeouts while giving up two free bases with one hit-by-pitch and one walk.

Travis Szober (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) had himself a day, going 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Szober doubled twice in the seven innings, doubling his year total to four. Making the start at second base, the freshman contributed to his first double-play assist of the year.

Jack Moeller (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) continues to find ways to get the job done, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored. Moeller shot his first collegiate triple to the warning track to send home the two runners on base.

Dylan Roberts (Warwick, R.I./Pilgrim) also brought in two RBI while crossing the bag once, with his sole hit of the day coming as an RBI single up the third base line.
