Adrianna Filippelli Selected to CSC Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Adrianna Filippelli (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) of the Manhattanville University women's tennis team was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Tennis Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Filippelli earns a spot on the team in her first year of eligibility and was further selected to advance to the Academic All-America® ballot following her successes this year in the classroom as well as on the court.

Eligibility to the Academic All-District® Team was open to student-athletes with academic and athletic standing as sophomores or greater. Student-athletes needed to hold a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.50 while being in the lineup for 75 percent of their institution's days of competition.

The sophomore Filippelli was named the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year following her leading performance for the Valiants in the fall. Manhattanville captured its eight conference championship in October, thanks in no small part to the play of Filippelli. The Mastic native went 9-2 in singles play during the regular season, posting a 7-2 mark in the top flight while also winning both of her matchups in the No. 2 position. Filippelli was just as strong in doubles action, going 12-0 prior to Manhattanville's NCAA Tournament appearance earlier this month. She won all three of her matches in the No. 1 tandem while going 9-0 in No. 2 play.

Filippelli's name appears on the Academic All-America® ballot, with voting now open to CSC members. Voting will take place until May 19, with the Academic All-America® team being announced on June 2.
