PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville University Field Hockey (1-3) was overpowered in the second half by Ramapo College (1-2) in 4-2 final on Saturday afternoon.

Ramapo was the only team to strike in the first quarter, converting off a penalty corner to take the 1-0 lead. As the first half wrapped, Emma Masie (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) re-entered the game and with less than a minute remaining she fired off back-to-back shots. Off the second shot she found her way around the goalie, sending the ball to the back of the cage for the tie heading into half.
Manhattanville fired off five shots to begin the second half to no avail. The visiting team executed a picture-perfect corner to regain the lead shortly after; less than five minutes later the Roadrunners extended to its lead by one.
Shannon Keena (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) cut the lead down by one after a breakaway gave the Valiants an advantage in the circle which allowed Keira Guinan (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) to send the ball past the keeper. Keena finished the motion with a tip into the back of the goal.
Ramapo sealed the win with a one-on-one break past the defense and into the cage.
Braydan Haas (Locust Valley, N.Y./Locust Valley) made her second appearance in goal this season, making her first career save off a rocket from the top of the circle.
