PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville University women's soccer dropped a defensive battle 1-0 against Farmingdale on Saturday afternoon. The Valiants fall to 1-3 (0-1) while the Rams improve to 4-1-1 (1-0).
The Valiants were silenced offensively by the Rams in the first half with Jazleen Vega (Land O' Lakes, Fla./Sunlake) sending off the sole shot within the 34th minute. Farmingdale sent a header to the back of the net just after the 36-minute marker.
Manhattanville was able to send four shots on goal in the second half and fought for three corner kicks to no avail. The defense shut down the visitors, only allowing two shots on goal directly to Gabrielle Billetz (Clarksburg, Mass./Hoosac Valley). Billetz recorded six saves in the 90 minutes.
