PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville University field hockey's Hannah Doherty (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) recorded a career high 23 saves, including two penalty strokes, in Valiants' (2-5) hard-fought 4-2 loss to Russel Sage College (3-4).

Doherty excelled above her previous best of 14 saves including shutting down two penalty strokes diving to the stick side of her cage.
Keira Guinan (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) continues to lead her team on the field, recording her sixth goal of the season. Shannon Keena (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) ripped off her third goal off the year with a rocket into the back of the backstop.

Sage found a way to finish early in the first quarter converting on the first penalty corner. In the first half the Valiants were out outshot 13 to two as the visitors fought for six corners to the home's one. Six saves from Doherty in the second quarter kept the game within one.
Guinan started off the second half by putting her team on the board, Keena put up the second goal of the quarter between Sage goals. Gators' sophomore midfielder went on to post a three-goal second half to lift her team over the Valiants.
