PURCHASE, N.Y. –
The Manhattanville men's lacrosse team had its defensive woes continue as the Valiants dropped their third straight Middle Atlantic Conference contest to Eastern University, 12-1, on Wednesday afternoon at GoValiants.com Field.

The Valiants trailed by nine before the home team got on the board, as senior defender James Frommert (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) went coast-to-coast for his first collegiate goal with 12:08 remaining in the third quarter.

Manhattanville had trouble with penalties against the Eagles, as the home team was whistled for six infractions and Eastern converted on five of those opportunities. The Eagles also held a 35-15 edge in total shots on the afternoon.

Sophomore netminder Dom Poletto (Engelwood, Colo./Regis Jesuit) made 15 saves in the defeat for the Valiants.

Manhattanville (2-5, 0-3 MAC) will travel to Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. faceoff with the Blue Jays.
