Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – The Manhattanville women's soccer team dropped below the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Trinity (Conn.) College in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Campus Field.
Freshman netminder
Grace Kraemer (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) made a season-high eight saves for the Valiants in goal, but it was not enough to counter a Bantam offensive attack that posted an 18-1 edge in total shots and a 10-1 margin in shots in goal. Trinity's Monika DiFioro made one save to earn the shutout victory.
All the Trinity offense came in the first 24 minutes off the foot of Kelsey Thomas, who scored twice to give the home team the win. She started the scoring in the 10th minute with an unassisted tally, and added another unassisted strike with 23:25 gone by in the opening frame to make it a two-goal Trinity lead.
Manhattanville (2-3-0) will return home on Friday night, as the Valiants continue non-conference play with a 7 p.m. matchup under the lights of GoValiants.com Field against Hendrix. The match will be video streamed live on GoValiants.TV beginning at 6:55 p.m.
