Down by nine points soon after, Manhattanville came back with a quick 8-0 run to get back into the game, as a three from sophomore
Anthony Maestre (Bronx, N.Y./Mount St. Michael Academy) was followed by a dunk by Bramswig and another Quigley three to make it 28-27 with 7:07 left. But the Valiants could not gain the lead for the remainder of the frame, and Neumann closed on a 7-2 run to take a 46-38 lead into the half.

Neumann outscored Manhattanville 8-2 coming out of the break to open up a 54-40 lead less than three minutes into the second half, and the Knights eventually built up their lead to as many as 21 at 69-48 on a Blount layup with 9:25 remaining. Manhattanville nearly halved the lead thanks to a 12-2 run sparked by four points each from Campbell and Bramswig that made it 71-60 with 2:32 left, but the Valiants ran out of time down the stretch.
