Box Score CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – DeSales shot 61.1 percent from the field as a team as the Bulldogs defeated Manhattanville by an 84-60 score in a Freedom Conference men's basketball contest on Wednesday night at Billera Hall.

DeSales (17-5, 9-2 Freedom) remains in a tie for first place in the Freedom Conference with the win, while Manhattanville (9-13, 3-8 Freedom) falls into a tie for seventh place in the conference standings with the loss.

DeSales had a great shooting night on Wednesday, hitting 33 of 54 shots from the field and going 8 for 14 from beyond the arc. Paul Pammer and Brett Moyer led the team with 16 points apiece, while Jake Hungarter added 13 points and Mike Coleman chipped in 11 as well.

Manhattanville struggled shooting the ball on the night, hitting 25 of 69 shots (36.2 percent) from the field and connecting on only four of its 26 three-point attempts (15.4 percent). Junior
Colin Campbell (Miami, Fla./LaSalle) had a team-high 12 points and classmate
Jack Bramswig (Pleasantville, N.Y./Pleasantville) added 10 points for the Valiants.

Manhattanville did not shoot poorly from the field in the first half, hitting 15-of-35 shots (43 percent), but DeSales shot at a much higher 59 percent clip (16 of 27). A major difference came from beyond the arc, where the Bulldogs hit 6-of-10 attempts and the Valiants made only 1-of-11 shots.

The game remained close for the first 10 minutes of the first half, but a 9-0 Bulldog run opened up a 29-18 advantage with 8:44 to go in the frame. However, the Valiants battled back, and buckets from sophomore
Mike Murray (Queens, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) and freshman
Andrew Winter (Queens, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) got the visitors back within three at 35-32 with 2:33 remaining.

DeSales closed the half on a 9-2 run to take a 44-34 edge into the break, but the visitors still remained in range headed into the second half.

The visitors started the second half with a quick 7-2 run, capped by a pair of Campbell free throws that brought the deficit back down to six at 46-40. The lead was trimmed to three with 12:51 to go, as freshman
Anthony Maestre (Bronx, N.Y./Mount St. Michael Academy) converted an old-fashioned three-point play and Campbell followed with a steal and fast-break layup to make it 51-48.

However, DeSales countered with a 16-3 run over the next 5:44 to open up a 67-51 advantage with 7:07 left on the clock. Pammer led the squad with eight points during the run, while Moyer added six of his own to help the home team to its big lead.

Murray and Maestre ended the run with back-to-back layups, but eight straight DSU points ensured that was as close as Manhattanville would get the rest of the way.

The Valiants will play their final game in front of the Kennedy Gym crowd on Saturday afternoon, as the team celebrates Senior Day prior to its 2012-13 home finale versus King's (Pa.) beginning at 3 p.m.
