PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team will be playing for the HEADstrong Foundation Saturday afternoon when they host Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action at GoValiants.com Field.
Head Coach
Ryder Bohlander and the Valiants announced the fundraising game this afternoon, searching to raise funds for the national foundation that supports cancer patients within the lacrosse community. HEADstrong was created in 2006 when Nicholas Colleluori was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a disease which ultimately took his life. Today, the foundation is continued by Colleluori's family, providing financial assistance to families affected by cancer, providing housing for cancer patients in the Philadelphia area through "Nick's House", serving family meals, delivering comfort packages to newly hospitalized patients, and providing support through a peer-to-peer mentor group.
Manhattanville will be fundraising through a personalized webpage through the HEADstrong Foundation. Those wishing to donate can do so through the link provided at the top of the page. All proceeds collected go directly to HEADstrong to support this wonderful foundation.
Manhattanville and Wilkes faceoff at 1:00 pm, and the Valiants will also honor the seven senior members of this year's roster prior to Saturday's game.
