BOSTON, MASS. — The Manhattanville College men's track and field team continued to set personal records and qualify for championships when they competed at the Boston University Terrier Classic Saturday, Jan. 26.
In the men's 800-meter run, sophomore
Papa Mamadou Diop (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) finished sixth in his section with a time of 1:56.28. The sophomore's time was the 32nd-fastest in all of Division III, and Diop finished 52nd out of 137 runners in the event. He set a school record with his time, as well as qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships.
Sophomores
Dayshawn Siranaula (Port Chester, N.Y./Brewster) and
Richard Cintron (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) competed in the men's 100-meter run, with Siranaula finishing in a personal-record time of 2:42.70, finishing seventh in his section. The sophomore also qualified for the ECAC Championships with his time. Cintron set a personal-record as well, crossing the finish line in 2:48.11 and finishing eighth in his section.
Freshman
Grant Foray (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) competed in both the men's 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. In the 200, Foray finished first in his section with a time of 23.26. The freshman also finished first in his section in the 400, crossing the finish line in 51.66, which ranks sixth in the MAC.
The Valiants return to the track Friday, Feb. 1, when they compete at the New York University Invitational at The Armory.
