USL’s Austin Bold FC Hires Alcaraz (’15, M.S. ’20) as Assistant Coach

AUSTIN, Texas – Austin Bold FC, a member club of the United Soccer League (USL) Championship, has officially hired Michael Alcaraz as the newest member of its coaching staff, effective July 1. Alcaraz most recently spent two seasons as Manhattanville College men's soccer's top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

Alcaraz, a 2015 Manhattanville graduate, was a standout defender for the Valiants in his two seasons as a player. He returned as a coach for the squad after collecting three years of professional experience elsewhere.

"Manhattanville gave me the experience of working with a diverse group of people with different cultural backgrounds and personalities," said Alcaraz. "Being at a college like Manhattanville allowed me to develop the tools needed to work and excel in a professional environment."

Also 2020 M.S. graduate of Manhattanville's School of Professional Studies, Alcaraz previously spent time with the University of South Florida's Division I program in 2017 as the assistant director of operations. Additionally, he helped the San Fernando Valley Scorpions to the United Premier Soccer League's Western Conference title as an assistant coach in 2016. Lastly, Alcaraz worked in gameday operations roles with both NYCFC and the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer (MLS).

With Austin Bold FC, Alcaraz will assume the role of assistant goalkeeper coach and work primarily with the planning and execution of the goalkeepers' training curriculum. He will also assist the head coach in all practice preparation.

"Austin Bold FC is a progressive and welcoming organization with people from different walks of life," continued Alcaraz. "Mville allowed me to make such a smooth transition into a demanding, but welcoming community."
