Purchase, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's basketball team and head coach
Chris Alesi have announced five incoming freshmen for the 2021-2022 season. The recruiting class includes three guards and two forwards, four played high school ball in New York and one played in Pennsylavnia.
Jack Scanlon – 6'2"/180 – Guard – Pearl River High School (NY)
In his senior season, Scanlon averaged 14 points along with three steals per game. He often guarded the other teams' best player and was a huge contributor on the defensive end of the floor. A team captain his senior year and a two-year varsity starter, he played a pivotal role in his team's success and sectional playoff runs. He went on to receive all league, all county, and all section honors in Section 1 his senior year. Scanlon possesses great shooting abilities combined with a tireless work ethic.
Thomas Mullin – 5'10"/180 – Guard – Neshaminy High School (PA)
Mullin, the nephew of Naismith Hall of Famer and former St. John's University head coach Chris Mullin, is a tough, strong minded and smart basketball player. He was the captain of his high school team during his senior year and a two-year varsity starter. Mullin's is a terrific shooter and strong defender. Basketball certainly runs in the Mullin family as his dad John played at the University of Bridgeport and his sister Brooke is currently a member of the Villanova University women's basketball team.
Zach Knowles – 6'0"/160 – Guard – Greece Odyssey Academy (NY)
Knowles, a two-year varsity starter and team captain, is regarded for his ability to shoot the ball. The shooting guard led his team in scoring with 15 points per game, while averaging five assists per game. Knowles was selected his team's most valuable player.
Donovan De La Rosa – 6'5"/185 – Forward – Saint John the Baptist High School (NY)
De La Rosa is an athletic forward who possess a strong ability to rebound and defend at a high level. The three-year varsity starter averaged 10 points and 14 rebounds per game during senior year. De La Rosa was recognized for his strong work in the classroom by being named a member of the All-Academic team for his conference.
Zachary Garrant – 6'4"/170 – Forward – Spackenkill High School (NY)
Garrant is a versatile forward with an outstanding work ethic. He was a two-year varsity starter and team captain his final year. He is a player who does whatever it takes to win. Led by head coach Matthew Hoyt, Garrant averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game on his way to receiving the All-County Small Schools award.
