PUCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College Department of Athletics and Recreation and Director of Athletics Julene Caulfield announced the hiring of Joseph Mandile as Assistant Athletic Director, effective September 13, 2021.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to return to Manhattanville in an administrative role," Mandile said. "I'm looking forward to work and learn from Julene Caulfield as I begin this next step with Manhattanville Athletics."

Mandile joins Manhattanville from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he was a member of the Bloodhounds staff since 2013. Mandile began his career at John Jay as the head coach of the Bloodhounds baseball team before joining the administrative team as Event Operations Manager and Alumni Coordinator in 2014.

In this role with Manhattanville, Mandile will be overseeing athletics operations, including day-to-day and gameday management. He will also be in charge of business managerial decisions for the department.

"We are very lucky to bring someone of Joe's caliber into the Valiant family," Caulfield said. "Joe brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of athletics. I am excited for him to get started working with all the student-athletes, coaches, staff, and Manhattanville community."

In 2015, Mandile was promoted to the role of Assistant Athletics Director for Operations & Scheduling / Head Baseball Coach. Last year, Mandile also added oversight of Business Development to his extensive list of responsibilities in the John Jay Athletics Department.

With John Jay, Mandile was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Bloodhounds' 15 NCAA teams, and was involved with scheduling practices, games, venues, officials, and transportation, securing off-site facilities, and maintaining facilities both on and off campus. He served as on-site administrator for John Jay's home contests, was a member of the Athletics Leadership team and senior staff, and was the athletic department's representative for John Jay's Return to Campus committee following the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the head coach of John Jay baseball, Mandile coached 18 players that earned CUNYAC All-Star honors, 60 Scholar-Athletes, and four players that went on to play professional baseball. The 2018 CUNYAC Coach of the Year, Mandile also served as the NCAA Regional Rep for CUNYAC while with John Jay.

Mandile returns to Manhattanville following his first stint as a member of the Valiants' baseball coaching staff from 2007 to 2008. In his first year, Mandile was part of the Skyline Conference Coaching Staff of the Year that led the Valiants to a Skyline Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Regionals. After playing for the Continental Baseball League's Bay Area Toros in 2007 and 2008, Mandile went on to spend three years as a member of the Fordham University baseball staff, serving as first base coach and as Director of the Fordham University Baseball Camp for three years.

Prior to joining the Valiants coaching staff, Mandile played collegiate baseball for two years at Sacred Heart University. He graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor's in Political Science prior to getting his Master's in Sports Business Management from Manhattanville in 2009.
