Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's tennis team defended their perfect record in conference play this season on Saturday, defeating Purchase College by a final of 8-1. The Valiants improve to 8-5 overall on the year and are now 5-0 against the Skyline Conference.

Ahead of the start of The Battle of Anderson Hill Road this morning, the Manhattanville College Department of Athletics honored the three graduating student-athletes from the men's tennis roster. Fabian Meiser (Cologne, Germany/Woodstock Academy (Conn.)), Ryan Rosenberg (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) and Nick Schlapak (Dover, N.H./Dover) were each recognized for their contributions to the program during their time at Manhattanville.

The three honorees combined to go 4-0 in their games on Saturday as the Valiants swept all three doubles draws and went 5-1 in singles play. In the No. 1 Doubles position, Schlapak teamed up with James Hourihan (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) edged out Julian Szuper and Ben Joory in a tightly-contested 8-6 matchup. Rosenberg got the nod in No. 2 Doubles with Luis Gonzalez (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon), blanking Simon Montalvo and Frederick Kaden 8-0. Meiser and teammate Max Moeller (Crestwood, N.Y./Iona Prep) had similar success in the third doubles draw, shutting out David Goldstein and William Isidro to take a 3-0 advantage for the hosting Valiants.

Rosenberg would be the lone graduate to pull double duty with a singles draw, defeating Joory 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2 position. The Valiants were victorious in the final four singles flights, all by 6-0, 6-0 final scores. Gonzalez blanked Montalvo in No. 3 Singles, while Weston Goodwin (Freeport, ME/Freeport High School) earned the victory over Kaden in the No. 4 slot. Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) was the winner in the No. 5 position over Goldstein and Shiel Loganadan (New York, N.Y./Mary McDowell Friends) picked up the win over Isidro in the final slot. The Valiants suffered their lone defeated of the day in No. 1 Singles, as Hourihan dropped a three set affair to Szuper.
