PURCHASE, N.Y. – It's time to crown a conference champion! The top-seeded Manhattanville College men's tennis team looks to cap off what has been a dominant season in the Skyline Conference with their first-ever postseason tournament championship on Sunday when they take on No. 2 Yeshiva University.

How We Got Here:
The Valiants defended their top seed on Thursday evening with a 5-0 semifinals win over No. 4 USMMA. After winning all three doubles draws, the Valiants took the first two singles points to win the match, earning their second-straight Skyline Finals berth.
James Hourihan (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and
Nick Schlapak (Dover, N.H./Dover) earned an 8-5 win in the top doubles position, while the duos of
Ryan Rosenberg (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) &
Luis Gonzalez (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) and
Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) &
Weston Goodwin (Freeport, ME/Freeport High School) earned a pair of 8-2 wins in No. 2 and No. 3 Doubles. Crowley then earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 6 Singles flight before Gonzalez nabbed the winning point in No. 3 Singles, 6-0, 6-3. The Valiants held the lead in three of the four remaining singles matches before Gonzalez secured the match win for the home team.
The Maccabees punched their ticket to the finals with a 5-1 victory over No. 3 Farmingdale on Thursday night. Yeshiva took all two of the three doubles draws before winning the first three singles points to take the match. Tomer Mendler and Aaron Cohen earned the win in No. 1 Doubles for the Macs, while Leon Bassan and Jonathan Mayer notched an 8-3 victory in the No. 3 position. Leon Bassan and Akiva Ackerman earned 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play in the fourth and sixth flights before Anthony Lallouz closed out the victory with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 4 position. Like the Valiants, the Maccabees were well situated in other singles draws, holding leads in two of the three unfinished flights.

The Valiants and Maccabees met in the final match of the Skyline regular season. With both teams sporting perfect 6-0 conference records at the time, Manhattanville notched a 6-3 victory to earn the regular season crown. A trio of tightly-contested doubles matches made the difference, as the Valiants were able to take all three doubles flights and three of the six singles contests to earn the win. History:
Manhattanville is 10-5 all-time against Yeshiva since the inaugural meeting in 1997. Manhattanville is on a three-match win streak against the Maccabees, including a 5-3 win in last year's Skyline Semifinals. Yeshiva took the first-ever meeting in 1997 before the Valiants won seven straight matches from 1999 to 2004. Manhattanville is 7-3 against Yeshiva on the Manhattanville Tennis Courts.
