PURCHASE, N.Y. – Following their 2022-23 campaign on the hardwood that culminated in an appearance in the Skyline Conference Championship finals, the Manhattanville College women's basketball team had three players earn All-Conference Distinctions.
Amanda Orlando (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) was named the Skyline Rookie of the Year, while
Jamison Agostino (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) and
Julianna Kascic (North Bergen, N.J./Paramus Catholic) were appointed to the All-Conference First Team.
It is the first All-Conference recognitions for all three Valiants.
Orlando was phenomenal in her first season playing college ball, earning Skyline Rookie of the Week recognition five teams throughout the season. Starting all 25 games this season, she finished the year third on the team in scoring with 9.8 points per contest, trailing only Kascic and Agostino. Averaging more than 28 minutes per game, Orlando shot .429 from the floor. She would dish out a team-high 77 assists on the year while finishing second on the Valiants in takeaways with 52. Orlando added 91 rebounds and four blocks to her totals on the season. The Putnam Valley native only improved as the season went on, putting up her first double-digit game of her career on Jan. 3 against Mount Saint Vincent when she scored 13. That would be the start of six-straight games with 10 or more points, highlighted by a 24-point effort against Sarah Lawrence on Jan. 17. Overall, Orlando ranked 16
th in the Skyline in scoring.
Agostino continued her development in her junior campaign as she shattered her numbers from her first full season on the court a year ago. She finished the year second on the team in scoring 339 points, averaging 13.0 points per contest as she would start each game this year alongside Orlando. Playing a team-leading 32.8 minutes per game, Agostino was one of the top deep-ball threats in the nation. She would finish seventh in all of Division III in total three pointers and sixth in three pointers per game. Agostino drained 79 three pointers over the course of the season, setting a new program record. The Stony Brook product added 79 rebounds, 39 assists, 12 steals and six blocks over the year. She would end the year 13
th in conference scoring. Agostino was a five-time Skyline Weekly Honor Roll recipient while being named to the Met Basketball Writers Association Honorable Mention list on Jan. 17.
Kascic made an immediate impact in her first season on campus for the Valiants as the senior forward wasted no time getting acclimated to her new team. Kascic scored a team-high 351 points in the 2022-23 campaign, averaging 14.0 points per contest as she played in all 25 games, making 23 starts. Playing more than 31 minutes per game, Kascic shot 55 percent from the field on the season while also leading the team in rebounds with 269 on the year, averaging 10.8 boards per game. The end result was 14 double-doubles on the season, the third most in the conference and the 23
rd most in all of Division III. Kascic led the Skyline in field goal percentage while ranking third in the conference in rebounds per game. Kascic was twice selected as Skyline Player of the Week and made the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Feb. 14. She also earned appointment on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll on four occasions throughout the season.
