MILTON, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College cross country teams ran in the Mount Saint Mary College Knight Invite on Sunday morning with nine runners taking to the course.
The men's team came out ready to compete and placed 5
th overall. For the third race in a row,
Joey DeMilio (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) led the Valiants' charge and would get his first top 10 collegiate finish. The rookie placed ninth overall with a time of 30:37.4 in the 8K.
Daniel Baldessarre (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) and
Roberto Schneiger (New York, N.Y./Urban Academy Lab) were next to complete the course placing 31
st and 37
th, respectively. Baldessarre posted a time of 33:10.6, while Schneiger stayed on his heels and finished at 33:52.8.
Darlig Delgado (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore Senior) clocked in at 36:18.0, good for 61
st place to help the Valiants in their overall finish.
Anthony Willis (New York, N.Y./H.S. for Environmental Studies) was last to cross the finish line for Manhattanville in 71
st place with a time of 37:30.3.
On the women's side,
Angelyne Silverio (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) placed 25
th in a field of 136, with a time of 33:22.1. Following closely behind,
Orquidea Briceno (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) finished 32
nd with a time of 33:53.1.
Jen Schmidt (Williston Park, N.Y./Herricks) completed the course next in 36
th place with a time of 34:05.1.
Odalis Amado (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) would then finish the day and round out the team with a time of 35:19.9 to place 47
th.
The Valiants will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J.
