DANBURY, Conn. – Senior defender
Caitlin Ward (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown High School) of the Manhattanville University women's soccer team has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2024 Division III Women's Soccer All-ECAC Second Team, the organization announced earlier this week.
Ward is the first Valiant to earn All-ECAC recognition since 2009 when the trio of Holly Nonis, Ali Bromson and Kathryn Moore were all recognized by the organization on their All-Star Teams.
Ward became a three-time Skyline All-Conference selection this year after being selected to the Skyline First Team for the second time in her career as the leading presence on Manhattanville's backline. The senior started all 17 games, one of only two Valiants to earn the start in every contest, while leading all field players with 1,298 minutes. Manhattanville held opponents to a 1.24 goals-against average on the year thanks to Ward's presence on the defense. 2024 marked the top offensive season of Ward's collegiate career as she finished the season with six points on two goals and two assists. On Sept. 27, she collected an assist and the game-winning goal against Yeshiva, her first career game-winner. Ward replicated the statline on Oct. 19 in Manhattanville's win over Old Westbury.
