PURCHASE, N.Y. – With an incredible comeback after Thanksgiving break, a pair of Manhattanville University basketball student-athletes have been named Skyline Conference Honorable Mentions, for the week ending December 7th.
Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Report - Dec. 8th
Andrew Saint-Louis (Norwalk, Conn./Notre Dame Fairfield)
The graduate guard helped lead the Valiants to two victories throughout the week. In the match up against York, Saint-Louis went 9-for-10 from the free-throw line and grabbed six offensive rebounds and three defensive rebounds for a total of nine. He continued to fuel the offense with two assists, two turnovers, one block, and one steal, finishing the 79–72 win with an impressive 24 points.
Later in the week against Medgar Evers, he continued his strong play by going 4-for-7 from the free-throw line and collecting three offensive and three defensive rebounds. Remaining a dominant presence, he also recorded three turnovers, one assist, and added eight points.
Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Report - Dec. 8th
Gabby Tucker (Port Chester, N.Y./Blind Brook)
The senior guard helped the Valiants secure decisive wins over USMMA and Five Towns College. Against the Mariners earlier in the week, Tucker went 8-for-17 from the field, 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, and 1-for-2 at the free-throw line. She added one defensive rebound, six assists, two turnovers, and one steal to finish with 20 points.
Over the weekend against Five Towns, she continued her strong performance, shooting 5-for-10 from the court, 1-for-2 from three, and 4-for-8 from the free-throw line. She added three offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds for a total of five. Despite nearly fouling out with four personal fouls, she maintained composure and contributed five assists, one turnover, and five steals along with 15 points, securing the 83–49 victory.
