PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University men's hockey team had a conference-high 25 student-athletes named to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) All-Academic Team for the 2024-25 season, the conference unveiled last week.

Manhattanville's 25 honorees were matched only by Chatham University as the UCHC recognized 134 total student-athletes across its six men's programs.
Eligibility for the UCHC All-Academic Team is open to student-athletes that completed at least one academic year at their current institution while holding a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher for both terms of the 2024-25 academic year.

17 of the Valiants' recognized student-athletes had been named to UCHC All-Academic Teams in previous years, all but one appearing on the 2023-24 Team. Additionally, six of Manhattanville's first-time honorees were freshmen earning the recognition in their first seasons of eligibility.

Lane Paddison (100 Mile House, Canada/Canmore Eagles (AJHL)) and Cameron Vassos (Caledon, Ontario/Navan Grads (CCHL)) were among the 14 total student-athletes across the conference to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA across the past academic year. Seniors James Gregory (Darien, Conn./Connecticut Roughriders (EHL)), Artem Mateichenko (Kharkov, Ukraine/New Hampshire Avalanche (EHL)), and Raymond Speerbrecker (Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada/Revelstoke Grizzlies (KIJHL)) all concluded their undergraduate studies by being named to the All-Academic Team in all four years of their respective times at Manhattanville. Four other players—Paddison, Corey Popowcer (Parkland, Fla./Vermont Lumberjacks (EHL)), Mitchell Watson (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Canmore Eagles (AJHL)) and Sebastian Woods (Limehouse, Ontario, Canada/Utica Jr. Comets (NCDC))—are making the third All-Academic appearances of their careers.
