GREENWOOD, Ind. – Manhattanville University baseball seniors
Joseph McDonald (Coram, N.Y./Longwood) and
Ray White (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Lakeland) concluded their undergraduate tenures with the Valiants with one more accolade as the duo were both named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team as announced earlier this week.
CSC honors and celebrates the academic and athletic successes of student-athletes with the Academic All-District® Team. All student-athletes with standing of sophomore or greater both academically and athletically were eligible for nomination to the team this year. Athletes needed to have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average while competing in 90 percent of their institution's games or making starts in 66 percent of the team's games. Pitchers were eligible with 17 appearances or 35 total innings pitched.
McDonald played a career-high 35 games his senior season in 2025, starting in each game he appeared in. Serving as the Valiants' primary first baseman, McDonald hit .324 on the year while scoring 26 runs and driving in 19 while hitting at the top of the lineup. The Coram product also showed great discipline at the plate, drawing a career-high 19 walks and seven hit-by-pitches to post at .455 on-base percentage. McDonald also stole six bases while hitting a pair of doubles and two triples. He reached the 100 career hits mark on April 2 against Vassar, ultimately finishing his undergraduate tenure with 115 total base hits. McDonald graduated in May with his degree in education.
White was among the Valiants' busiest arms this season, firing 46.1 innings across 11 total appearances. The Mohegan Lake resident finished the year with a 1-3 record, two saves and a 4.86 ERA, his lowest mark since his breakout freshman season in 2022. White struck out 21 batters on the year, including a season-high five punchouts across six innings against New Jersey City on March 15. After earning saves against Saint Joseph's Brooklyn and Mount Saint Vincent down the stretch of the regular season, White punched Manhattanville's ticket to the postseason with a complete game, two run effort against Mount Saint Mary on the final day of the regular season. He ends his time as a Valiant with an 11-10 record, 5.07 ERA and 75 strikeouts across 159.2 career innings.
