PURCHASE, N.Y. – Ava Wade (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) of the Manhattanville University women's lacrosse team was recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) last week, representing the Valiants on the 2025 Division III Academic Honor Roll.
Wade was among the 1,289 total student-athletes honored across the county by the organization that met the IWLCA criteria of being either a junior, senior or graduate student while having earned a cumulative grade-point average of a 3.50 or higher.
The junior Wade played in all 15 games as a junior in the spring season, starting in 14 as a member of the Manhattanville defensive unit. She finished the year with new career-highs of 14 grounds balls and nine caused turnovers.
A psychology and childhood education major, Wade has been no stranger to academic achievements this year. She was named to the Skyline Conference Fall 2024 Academic Honor Roll for her efforts as a member of the women's soccer team before earning a spot on the Winter-Spring edition with women's lacrosse. Wade was also one of the Valiants' selections to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® At-Large Team in June.
