PURCHASE, N.Y. — The Skyline Conference recognized two members of the Manhattanville men's volleyball team with the highest weekly honors following the second week of the season. Junior outside hitter Joe Gandarillas (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem HS East) was named Player of the Week, while senior libero/defensive specialist Matt Diamond (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) earned Libero of the Week honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joe Gandarillas (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem HS East) was named Player of the Week after helping lead Manhattanville to its first win of the season against Pratt Institute. In the match, he totaled 10 kills and 21 attacks, adding an impressive six service aces, while recording four digs, finishing with 16 points. Later in the week against Lasell University, Gandarillas continued his strong play, tallying nine kills and 22 attacks along with one assist and one dig for nine points in the match.
LIBERO OF THE WEEK
Matt Diamond (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) earned Libero of the Week honors following a strong defensive week. Against Pratt, he recorded one assist and six digs, and he maintained that same energy against Lasell, finishing with another six digs.
