PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University Department of Athletics and Recreation Manhattanville's Associate Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Julene Caulfield have announced that Brandon DaSilva has been hired as head coach for the Valiants' men's volleyball team, effective September 1.

DaSilva becomes the third head coach in the program's young history that will be entering its fourth season of competition in 2027.

"I am grateful to Manhattanville for the opportunity to coach this team at such an exciting stage," DaSilva said. "With our program only in its fourth year of competition, I am confident we can achieve a high standard here. I am also thrilled to be competing in the Skyline Conference again—it feels as though I left the conference with unfinished business. Joining the Valiants this year is truly a blessing, and I look forward to building strong relationships with our athletes to build upon the team's recent success."

DaSilva competed collegiately for New Jersey City University from 2020 to 2024 while the Gothic Knights were members of the Skyline Conference. Across five seasons on the floor, DaSilva racked up 785 kills, 156 digs, 353 blocks, 79 aces and 54 assists. The Gothic Knights won the Skyline Conference Championship in 2021, DaSilva's sophomore season and first year serving as team captain. NJCU further went on to win the ECAC Championship in 2023, with DaSilva being named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Following a dominant final season of play in 2025, DaSilva was selected as an AVCA Division III All-American and All-Region player.

Following his playing career, DaSilva began coaching at both the youth and collegiate level. In addition to working with NJ Premier Volleyball and Central Jersey Volleyball Academy, DaSilva remained with NJCU as an assistant volleyball coach and a strength & conditioning coach, starting in 2024. NJCU went on to capture the CUNYAC Championship in their final season prior to merging with Kean in 2026 with DaSilva on the staff.

A native of Kearny, New Jersey, DaSilva holds a bachelor's of science in exercise science from NJCU.
