LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Josie O'Leary's (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling) performance over the weekend continues to garner praise as the Manhattanville university softball sophomore was recognized as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top Performer for the week ending Mar. 29.

It is O'Leary's first time in her career being recognized by the organization and comes after she was named Skyline Conference Softball Player of the Week on Monday.

O'Leary hit nearly everything thrown her way in Sunday's sweep of Saint Joseph's Long Island, hitting a staggering .875 in the two-game series. The outfielder went 7-for-8 at the plate, scoring five times and driving in three runs while nabbing four bases. O'Leary hit her first collegiate triple in the opener against the Golden Eagles as part of her 3-for-4 effort, scoring twice, driving in a pair and stealing three bases for a second-straight game. For her encore, O'Leary went 4-for-4 in the finale with two doubles, scoring three more times, plating a run and adding another steal.

The big weekend at the dish pushes O'Leary's batting average on the season to .559, the ninth-highest batting average in the country. She has recorded five multi-hit games in the Valiants' last six contests and has scored a run in seven straight games.

O'Leary looks to stay hot when the Valiants are back in action on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader at Albertus Magnus at 3 p.m.
