Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, PA. — Senior Lizza Gonzalez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) of the Manhattanville College tennis team took home the second singles title at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Championships Sunday, Oct. 21. Gonzalez becomes the second Valiant to win a MAC Individual Championship, joining men's tennis sophomore Jan Senkerik, who won the title at the men's tournament last weekend.

After winning two matches Saturday to advance to the semifinal, Gonzalez took on Tess Weber of Arcadia University. Gonzalez came away with a straight set victory, winning 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the final. In the championship round, she would face off with Wilkes University's Dasha Yakhnis and would win the final round in straight sets as well, 6-3, 6-3, to claim the No. 2 singles title.

Sunday's matches were the final action of the fall season for the team, as they will not compete again until they take on Moravian College March 23.
