MAHWAH, N.J. -- The Manhattanville College men's tennis team competed at a singles tournament hosted by Ramapo College on Saturday, Sept. 28. Along with the Valiants, Ramapo, Drew University and FDU-Florham also competed.
Manhattanville (1-1) did not record a team score, but two Valiants made deep runs in their bracket and others picked up wins in the consolation draws. Freshman Asa Barkan (Pleasantville, N.Y./Briarcliff) made it to the semifinals in the E bracket and junior Jan Senkerik (Zlin, Czech Republic/The Hill Academy) made a run to the semifinals in the A bracket. It was Barkan's first time participating in tournament play for Manhattanville.
Two more Valiants picked up wins in consolation play. Sophomore Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) won his consolation match 8-5 and sophomore Fabian Meiser (Cologne, Germany/Woodstock Academy (Conn.)) won his match by a score of 8-4.
The Crimson and White return to action next on Saturday, Oct. 12, for a 1:00 P.M. match at Farmingdale State. The match against Farmingdale will close out fall-play for the team.
