PURCHASE, N.Y. – For the third time this season, Amanda Orlando (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) of the Manhattanville College women's basketball team has been named the Skyline Conference's Rookie of the Wek, for the week ending Jan. 15.

Orlando has continued to improve with each game this season, extending her streak of double-figures offensively to four straight contests as the Valiants went 2-0 last week. The rookie guard scored 26 points across the two games while collecting 14 rebounds and three steals. She began her week on Wednesday against Bryant & Stratton, scoring 13 points on a .500 shooting effort from the field. She would match her season-high of rebounds with eight caroms while logging two takeaways. Orlando went on to score 13 points again in Saturday's victory over Saint Joseph's-Long Island, collecting six more rebounds and another steal.

The Putnam Valley product has already started making her case for another Rookie of the Week nod after going off for 24 points with four steals in Tuesday night's victory over Sarah Lawrence. Orlando and the rest of the Valiants look for a fourth straight win on Thursday when they host Merchant Marine at 6 p.m.
