PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team brought home a pair of Skyline All-Conference accolades, as graduate attacker
Nick Cornelia (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) was named the conference's Co-Offensive Player of the Year and selected to the Skyline First Team, where he was joined by junior midfielder
Sean Larkin (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains).
Cornelia becomes just the third player in program history to be named Conference Player of the Year, the first to do so since Andrew Murray in 2017. He is the first Valiant to earned the recognition in the Skyline Conference, as Murray won the accolade as a member of the MAC Freedom Conference, while the other was earned by Anthony Persico in 1990 when Manhattanville competed in the Hudson Valley Lacrosse League.
A year removed from his Skyline All-Conference Second Team appointment, Cornelia pieced together one of the best seasons in Manhattanville history as he earned his first-ever First Team recognition. Cornelia finished second in the conference in scoring with 80 points, leading all players with an average of five points per game. His 59 goals was the most in all of the Skyline, as Cornelia scored close to four times per game. His 3.69 tallies per game ranked 17
th in all of NCAA Division III men's lacrosse. Cornelia finished with the sixth-most points scored by a Valiant in a single season, while his goal mark places him third in the single season record book. The Lindenhurst product scored 15 of the team's 16 games, recording three or more goals 12 times. He posted a pair of seven goal outings against Anna Maria on Feb. 19 and versus Drew on Mar. 8. Cornelia would add 39 ground balls to his docket, another personal best in what was by far his best season as a Valiant.
Cornelia shares the conference's Offensive Player of the Year recognition with Farmingdale's Rob Varello.
Larkin earns his first-career All-Conference nod following his 39-point junior campaign. He started all 16 games for Manhattanville as a midfielder as he surpassed his previous career-high of 32 points from a season ago. Larkin matched his assist total from his sophomore campaign with eight apples while he found the back of the net 31 times, finishing third on the team in scoring. The White Plains native scored a goal in 12 games, finishing with five hat tricks throughout the year. Larkin had a pair of five-goal performances to lead his effort on the year, reaching the benchmark against SUNY Delhi on Apr. 5 and against Mount Saint Vincent on Apr. 25. Larkin added 26 grounders over the course of the campaign.
