PURCHASE, N.Y. – For the second consecutive week, the Manhattanville Valiants have captured the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week award. Following her efforts in the team's two matches last week, Addison Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services) was recognized by the conference on Monday.

Ortiz won all four of her tilts last week, bouncing around flights on both the doubles and singles side of play. On Wednesday against Purchase, she partnered with Jenifer Lalman (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) in No. 2 Doubles for a 6-0 blanking of Novalie Nguyen and Katelin Smith before taking down Sierra Blanco 6-3, 6-1 in No. 3 Singles. The Valiants won the match to improve to 4-0 on the year, tying the best start in program history. While Manhattanville's win streak came to an end on Saturday against Drew, Ortiz continued to shine. She first partnered with Adrianna Filippelli (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) in her No. 1 Doubles debut for the year, winning 7-6 (7-3) over Riley Roesel and Natalia Melendez Sanchez. She then took to No. 2 Singles against Danielle Pettoni, winning 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

Ortiz and the Valiants resume conference play on Tuesday at Farmingdale at 4:30 p.m.
