Women’s Tennis Headlines the Skyline Preseason Coaches Poll

PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville Women's Tennis headlines the Skyline Preseason Coaches poll tied for first with Farmingdale State, receiving 46 points and four first-place votes.
 
The Valiants concluded the 2024 season with a 14-3 record and controlled the Skyline, boasting a shutdown 6-0 conference record.
 
 
Key Returners for Manhattanville
 
Sophomore Adrianna Filippelli (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) ended her rookie season posting 14-2 in singles matches with a standout performance coming in the form of shutout victories against Purchase and Pratt. Along with doubles partner senior Amaya Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services), they finished out 12-4 with three show-stopping shutouts. Ortiz, along with sister and classmate Addison-Mercedes Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./High School for Health Professions and Human Services), held it down on the singles court, posting 11-5 and 14-3, respectively. Addison-Mercedes went 15-2 with partner Suzi Doyle (Devon, England/Exeter College).
 
 
The Valiants open the 2025 season on Sept. 10, hosting the Hawks of New Paltz at 4 p.m. Conference matches will begin the following week at home against Yeshiva on Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
