PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University men's golf team has been voted fifth in the Skyline Conference Preseason Coaches Poll ahead of the start of the fall season.
Entering the first full season under Head Coach
Sean Reilly, the Valiants enter 2025 off a sixth-place finish in last fall's Skyline Conference Championship.
Manhattanville returns six golfers from last year's roster, fronted by
Corey Popowcer (Parkland, Fla./Vermont Lumberjacks (EHL)) and
William Billequey (Montreal, Quebec/Vermont Lumberjacks (EHL)). Popowcer enters his senior year after making the Skyline All-Conference Second Team for the second time in his career in 2024, leading the Valiants with a ninth-place finish at the conference championship. Popowcer led Manhattanville with a team-low 80.5 strokes per round. Billequey was also a frequent top-performer for the Valiants, averaging 87.89 strokes across his nine rounds as a sophomore a year ago.
Justin Fernet (Sherbrooke, Quebec/Taft School) and
Tyler Rolston (Newport, Pa./P.A.L Jr. Islanders (NCDC)) return for their junior seasons after competing in scoring rounds during the 2024 season. While they did not shoot rounds at any invitational last year,
Johno Hoins (Telluride, Colo./The Frederick Gunn School / Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL)) and
Ryan McKenna (Spokane, Wash./Sheridan Hawks (NA3HL)) round out Manhattanville's returners after training with the team in 2024. The Valiants will also feature a pair of new faces, junior transfer
Liam Parker (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) who makes his way to Manhattanville by way of SUNY Orange, and freshman
Pham Lam ().
The Valiants open the season on Sept. 8 at the Purchase College Invitational, the first of six regular-season outings. The two-day Skyline Conference Championship is slated for Oct. 19 and 20 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, N.Y.
