PURCHASE, N.Y. – The inaugural Valiants of the Week for the 2025-2026 academic year are in. Following their efforts in the first contests of the season, Nico Del Vescovo (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) of the Manhattanville University men's soccer team and Caylin Caballero (Eastvale, Calif./Walnut) of women's volleyball have been selected as Valiants of the Week, for the week ending Aug. 31.

Del Vescovo opened up his senior season by recording the Valiants' first goal of the new campaign. The forward headed a ball perfectly into the twine on Saturday against Penn State Abington, leading Manhattanville to a 1-0 win to close out the first week of action. The tally was Del Vescovo's second game-winner of his career.

Caballero wasted little time making an impression in her Valiant debut, finishing as one of Manhattanville's leading attackers in a three-set opening day sweep of Western Connecticut State University. The freshman racked up 13 kills against the Wolves, the second-most on the Valiants in the victory, alongside three digs, an assist and a block.
