The Academic All-District® At-Large program recognizes student-athletes who compete in NCAA-eligible sports that are not represented by other team-specific Academic All-District® Teams. Sports eligible for the At-Large program include women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and men's wrestling.

Up to six men's and six women's student-athletes can be nominated by their institutions for the 2025-26 At-Large program. To be eligible, student-athletes need to be at least a sophomore academically and athletically while earning a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. From there, each sport has specific games and 'matches played' criteria. Field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, and men's volleyball nominees must compete in either 90 percent of their institution's contests or start in 66 percent of the team's games. For golf, student-athletes need to be in the lineup for 70 percent of the school's team scoring events or compete at their respective conference championship tournaments.
