SCRANTON, PA. – Manhattanville field hockey is heading to the 2025 Atlantic East Conference Championship as the No. 4 seed for the second consecutive year. The program looks to find its first postseason victory under head coach Katie Nichol in the 2024 semifinals rematch against No. 1 Marywood.

HOW WE GOT HERE
The Valiants wrap the 2025 regular season 6-11 (1-3) with a standout conference victory coming against Gwynedd Mercy University to clinch the trip to Scranton, to take on the top-seeded Pacers of Marywood University.
After falling behind in the second quarter to the Griffins, the Valiants scored three straight goals to complete the comeback win. Hannah Revell (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls), Keira Guinan (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) and Fiona Doherty (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) scored the tallies for Manhattanville in the win.
Doherty and Shannon Keena (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) have led Manhattanville's offense with five goals each, while Guinan, Emelina Leccese (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) and Lulu LePage (Swansea, Mass./Elmira College) enter the postseason with four goals each.
The Pacers (9-9) finished up the year at an even .500 and undefeated in Atlantic East play. Against conference opponents, Marywood averaged three goals scored and one goal against. The Pacers' Dariane Jones leads the Atlantic East with 12 goals on the year, while Bre Marchiano holds a conference-best .762 save percentage over 13 games.
In the 2025 regular season, the Valiants traveled to Scranton and lost 0-3 to the Pacers.
LAST POSTSEASON
In the 2024 AEC Semifinals, the two met in a devastating 1-11 loss. The Pacers outshot the Valiants 37-3 and earned 20 corners to 3. Hannah Doherty (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) posted 14 saves in the match, with the lone goal coming from Fiona Doherty (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) and two shots from Alyssa Monahan.
