PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville field hockey team fell to the seventeenth-ranked College of New Jersey, 4-0, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon at GoValiants.com Field.

The Lions attacked early scoring in the 14th minute as Kellyn Riley found Camille Passucci at the back post for a tap in goal off a corner stroke. The Lions added another goal in the first half, as Riley blasted a shot off a corner to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage heading into the half.

Two more goals were scored in the final half, as the visiting team dominated the offensive possessions with a 21-1 shot differential. Freshman goalie Melissa Grant (Hampton, N.H.) made nine saves once again, but picked up her second loss of the season. Lions netminder Shannon Syciarz was not asked to record a save, but secured her fourth victory of the season with the shutout.
