PURCHASE, N.Y. —The Manhattanville College Field Hockey team will take part in a day-long salute to cancer awareness on Saturday October 13, when the Valiants host the King's College (Pa.) Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. at GoValiants.com Field.
Manhattanville, along with several other schools, will take part in "Play 4 The Cure" games across the country. "Play 4 The Cure" is dedicated to raising funds for the National Foundation for Cancer Research through competitive sports featuring recreational sports clubs, middle schools, high schools and collegiate sporting events.
The Valiants' field hockey team first participated in the event during the 2015 season, and has increased their annual donation each of the last three years, reaching $2,493 last year for a three-year total of $4,253. This season, with a goal set at $2,500, the team again surpassed last year's total, reaching $2,820 as of Thursday night, Oct. 11.
Those unable to make it to the game, but still wishing to make an impact can make donations to the Valiant fundraising efforts at the following link:
