PURCHASE, N.Y. – As the spring season rapidly approaches, the Manhattanville College baseball team has been voted No. 6 in this year's Skyline Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Valiants received 61 points in the poll, following behind St. Joseph's Long Island (96 points), USMMA (89 points), Farmingdale State (80 points), Maritime (67 points), and Mount Saint Vincent (65 points).
 
The Valiants will be entering the team's nineteenth season under highly decorated head coach Jeff Caulfield who led Manhattanville to a 19-19 season last year. The team claimed sixth in the Skyline Conference standings with an 11-9 record, earning a postseason berth where they were bested by Mount Saint Vincent in the opening round.
 
Manhattanville returns a lot of key contributors from last year's roster. In all, three All-Conference Team players from 2022 are back in Purchase ahead of this season: Tommy Iazzetta (Thornwood, N.Y./Westlake), Brian Bornkamp (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge), and Joseph McDonald (Coram, N.Y./Longwood). A 43-man roster for the Valiants showcases depth from both skilled veterans and a host of freshmen ready to get their collegiate careers started on the diamond.

Defending conference champs Saint Joseph's-Long Island have been tabbed as the Skyline preseason favorites, earning six of the 11 first place votes. 
 
The Valiants will open their season on the road during a spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. where they will take on Cabrini University on Mar. 4, Penn State Berks on Mar. 5 in a doubleheader, and Bridgewater State University on Mar. 6 and 7. They will open the year at home against the United States Coast Guard Academy on Mar. 12 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
